Taking classic RPG gameplay to the next level, Tower of Time features flexible character development, thousands of pieces of loot and equipment and the complex and tactical Arrow-Time real-time combat system. Important note: Combat in Tower of Time is different. Each battle is designed like a tactical puzzle. If you want to enjoy combat, you need to pick the difficulty which is adequately challenging to you skill set and adjust it as you progress. On highest difficulty level it is very demanding and requires you to find the synergies between classes, skills and the equipment.Engaging story of epic proportions Immerse yourself in a world where technology meets magic with devastating consequences. Gather a group of diverse champions and lead them through the tower. Hundreds of lore books and scattered pieces of information slowly reveal the history of Artara as your party of adventurers approach their fate.Deep tactical real-time combat with pause or slow-time Take ultimate strategic control of each battle with the Arrow-Time combat system that slows the action down to a crawl or pauses it. Plan ahead and position your party where you need them for ultimate effect. Use Arrow-Time to react to new threats, deploy devastating new spells and attacks and counter enemy attacks. No two encounters are ever the same. On harder difficulties - look at each battle as a tactical puzzle. RPGlite and Permadeath modes For those who do not like or have time for typical long cRPG and prefer fast-paced combat oriented games - RPGlite mode cuts down the story content and lets you focus on party building and tactical combat. With Permadeath option for those who appreciate a really tough challenge and want to test their skills. Compare yourself with others via Score and DPS Race leaderboards. 7 Unique character classes, each with different strengths and weaknesses. Complex skill system with two exclusive enhancement trees and multitude of options. Skill Gestures - draw some of the skills as you want. Gravity manipulation – leap large distances to scatter your enemies or draw them in. Rich equipment system. 150 enemies with unique skills and tactics. Face 50 Bosses wielding a diverse range of skills and spells. Five difficulty levels, including Epic difficulty (not recommended for new players). Multiple combat modes ensure that there's plenty of variety and fresh challenges ahead. Travel through hand-crafted levels that have been carefully designed to challenge you. New character progression system. Unique Party Alignment system. Combat Challenges, designed to test your tactical and party-building skills. Crafting, enchanting, legendary items. Upgradeable city. 6d5b4406ea Title: Tower of TimeGenre: Indie, RPG, StrategyDeveloper:Event HorizonPublisher:Event HorizonRelease Date: 12 Apr, 2018 Tower Of Time Full Crack [full Version] So far, this has been a really fun game. The first 5 characters all feel really useful in their own unique ways. story line has been interesting as well.I could see myself coming back around to play this all over again, from time to time.. My favorite RPG of the last year or two. Balanced difficulty and great learning curve that keeps things interesting through the end. Lots of different builds and strategies to experiment with.. This game is fantastic. I can't wait to see what else the dev's are able to do with the wonderful foundation they've built here. I have been looking for a game like this and didn't even know it! Wonderful storytelling, customization, and deck building. Wonderful job team!!!. The noncombat parts are too much boring point & clicky (+ hidden object finding) for me, while combat is more tedious than in most other strategy games, and enemies are either way too easy or (somtimes) purposefully of a higher level so that you HAVE to return later (the game even tells you...)...just why? It's not fun, and I see no cool "strategy" that the player could apply there.. TL;DR: Great game! The story is interesting, characters are nicely designed and the sound track is awesome. See at the end of Linux technical details.I love this game! It has basically all i want in a tactical RPG: the story is interesting, combats are strategic, characters have deep personalities and the OST is awesome. It starts like most of fantasy-based stories but as you advance in the game the plot get more complex. Every character personality and background is very well written. Your characters and the relations between them evolve a lot during the game. Just that would make a good story but there is more. Most of the story is told by level design which is very nice! It make the games very immersive. I enjoyed walking though these very detailed levels, looking for abandoned notes, subtle clues of what happened. The story is told in progressive way: each level unreveal a part of what happened. The combat system is also very nice. These are real time battles with the ability to pause (or to slow down) for strategic planning. You can even go fast forward which is useful when you know you're gonna win but don't want to wait. One things i love about the perk system is you can always redistribute you points as you like. You have to choose the right characters to include in each battle and for each of them, choose the right perks what you bring you victory. Fight a boos does not require the same perks as fighting a massive group of weak enemies: you can "craft" your group and each character for every battle. There is also a craft system in which you can forge item and enchant them. It is useful when you need stuff loots didn't give you or when you need a specific set of items for strategic reasons. Craft lovers, don't get me wrong, this is not a crafting game! If you play Tower of Time for crafting you gonna get massively disappointed. It is only there to let you have to stuff you need to support your combat strategy. On the technical side. I played mostly on Linux (Arch64+Mesa drivers). Performance were awesome even if my hardware is pretty old. Unfortunately some combats make the game crash. That's only a handful of combats but that's frustrating. Fortunately the games runs well on Proton (4.2.3 and 3.16.4) but with Proton it can not play cut scenes. But there is a trick: the game is DRM-Free so you can have both versions installed!1. Install the Linux version of game.2. Copy it somewhere else.3. In the game properties enable "Force compatibility layer" which will install the windows versions.4. Play with Proton until there is a cutscene.5. copy the windows saves into the Linux save folder.6. Stop Steam7. Run the Linux binary (if Steam is running, the windows version will start, so Steam has to be stopped first).. Tower of Time represent a very nice surprise for me. It is one of best RPG projects I experienced in past few years. Storytelling fits perfectly with graphics and unique combat. I can recommend it to all RPG players without hesitation.. Amazing quality game that is underrated in my eyes, haven't had that much fun with an ''indie title'' (even though it feels like a AA game) Has the feel of divinity in terms of story telling, camera view, and dramatic vibe with comical undertones. It is centered mostly around combat but has a nice enough story that made me read trough even though i do not usually read books and stuff. i havent done much yet is the game, only 7 hours in, but for the extremely low price, i feel like i already got more than what was asked. This game has a value of 40$ of more, its a shame the devs are not getting the success they deserves for this little gem.. Tower of Time surprised me. It's an indie dungeon crawler that is punching above its weight. Do I recommend it? For sure yes, but there are some things to be aware of. The game is described as story rich but I don't think the narrative is as compelling as it could have been. The companions are fun but they are caricatures. The real time with pause (or slow-mo) combat is well designed but there is too much of it and the encounter design starts to become repetitive. You should regard the game as being heavily based around combat. It's not really a role playing game in the literal sense since the decisions you make seem to have virtually no narrative consequences. As a dungeon crawler, the game is great fun and extremely atmospheric. I particularly loved the fantastic electronic soundtrack. The rest of this review will go into more detail. WRITING Tower of Time's story opens with promise. Drawn back by memories imprinted on him as a child, the main character (you) sends his two most trusted friends on a quest to explore a mysterious tower embedded in the ground upside down. Tower of time is set in an almost post apocalyptic backdrop. The world is dying and you believe that perhaps this tower will hold the key to its salvation. The game kicks off controlling the aforementioned two characters and gradually your party expands as you meet companions throughout the tower. Over the course of the game, you learn the tower's mysteries (an interesting mix of sci-fi and fantasy) through both cutscenes and environmental storytelling. The story centers around the origins of magic in the world. My major critique is that it drags. By the end of level 4 it's already quite clear what's going on with the narrative and there aren't really enough twists or subthreads to keep the player interested. Most side content is very cursory (with a lot of fetch type objectives). The one subthread that looks like it could go somewhere (Sleuth) is left in an unsatisfactory way. More than any of this though - there is a feeling throughout the game that decisions you make will have consequences (be that the Daeva or the constant arguments with companions and your influence over them) - but nothing actually seems to have any noticeable consequence *at all*. That's by far the greatest disappointment - the fact that key decisions (e.g. avatar and the ending) play out the same no matter what you do! Some levels in the tower are genuinely excellent (e.g L5) - where the ambience and environmental storytelling are top notch. I think this is a classic case of 'less is more' - cutting and combining various levels to create an experience with less filler would have made the game better. The companions in Tower of Time are fun and colourful but its worth being aware that they are for the most part all fantasy stereotypes\/caricatures. Noble human knight, nature loving elf druid, Scottish dwarf, mysterious sorceress etc. The dialogues in the game are good despite being static (i.e. without choices or branching paths that you choose as the player) and you certainly end up feeling affinity to the companions. That said arguments and conversations are quite surface level and there is limited character *development*. There is a lot of room for potential improvement here. GAMEPLAY Combat is where tower of time excels. It occurs on a different stage to exploration and is executed in real time with pause (or slow-mo) against waves of opponents. You control four heroes at any one time and are able to upgrade them over the course of the game (slotting new abilities and upgrading their stats). Even on normal difficulty the combat is engaging and challenging. Tactics are important - in particular careful use of crowd (stuns, blinds, etc.) and battlefield (towers, traps, etc.) control is critical. There are also different types of combat scenario - sometimes you need to destroy portals or be overwhelmed, other times some of your party start trapped and unable to act. The combat *is* great but there's a bit too much of it. Eventually it can become repetitive - you start to remember every battlefield arena for example. Reducing to a small number of selected and varied combats per tower level would have been great. Character progression is well done. You find gold in the environment and as a reward from quests\/combat. It plays the role of experience points allowing heroes to level up. Each hero can slot four abilities out of a total of eight and each ability has two possible upgrade paths (which are distinctly different). One area for improvement would be stats - in general it seems like 'mastery' is the first pick for pretty much all companions.Itemisation in Tower of Time is standard modern fare - random prefix\/suffix loot coloured by tier. I absolutely hate random loot in RPGs - I think it's just almost always dreadful and devs need to look back to static hand placed loot (cf Baldurs Gate). That said, it *does* sort of work in Tower of Time. It's just uninteresting and it waters down the unique items that are present. There is a crafting and enchanting system that allows you to use the coloured crystals you find during exploration to make items and enchant them. One suggestion for improvement here would be to allow the user to *choose* the item characteristics in the crafting menu - rather than rolling randomly (which only results in repeated save summing to get the stat you need for a given character). One positive aspect of Tower's itemisation system is that the crystal upgrades\/crafting reduce inventory clutter compared to its peers. The rest of the gameplay involves exploring the levels of the tower which is satisfying (you find enchantments and items) and solving the various puzzles within (which are generally pitched at a good level). My comments here would be that better itemisation would have made exploration better and finally the tower is meant to be *upside down*. This is never reflected in level design. They could have done something fun and unique with this. TECHNICAL Tower of time is a beautiful looking isometric game with some strong character concepts and designs (e.g Whisper). The music is absolutely great - I loved the electronic ambiance. The cutscenes and vignettes that advance the storyline are also very effective. The game runs smoothly and I encountered virtually no crashes or instabilities in my entire play through.
